Questa feature funziona con un tasto watch, ma non con un tasto monitor. Un tasto watch riporta lo stato del telefono (ephone) mentre un tasto monitor riporta lo stato di una linea  (ephone-dn).

L'esempio seguente mostra una configurazione in cui ephone 1 ha un tasto watch di ephone 2 mentre ephone 2 ha un tasto monitor di ephone-dn 1. Quando ephone 1 preme DnD, ephone 2 non vedrà che ephone 1 è occupato. Quando ephone 2 preme DnD, ephone 1 vedrà che ephone 2 è occupato.
